MOQ, sample timeline, and bulk production
Most suitable production projects start around 50 pieces per style/color. Samples can start from 1-5 pieces, and trial orders are usually 30-50 pieces depending on fabric availability, print method, trims, color count, and construction complexity. Sample development usually takes 7-10 days after details are confirmed, and bulk production is commonly 20-30 days after sample approval and deposit, depending on quantity and requirements.

Dress fabrics and fit points we review
Custom dress sampling needs more than a front photo. Satin, mesh, georgette, rib knit, lace, and stretch woven fabrics all behave differently on the body. We review opacity, lining, drape, seam allowance, zipper position, strap length, hem balance, and whether the sample needs double lining to avoid transparency.
For party and bodycon dresses, boutiques and online brands often need ruching, cut-outs, invisible zippers, slit height, mesh panels, or adjustable straps. These details affect both price and production risk, so they should be confirmed during sample development instead of after bulk cutting.
| Dress detail | QC focus | Brand note |
|---|---|---|
| Satin mini dress | Drape, seam puckering, pressing marks | Confirm lining and zipper before bulk |
| Mesh or lace dress | Transparency, stretch recovery, panel alignment | Double lining may be needed |
| Bodycon knit dress | Measurement tolerance, recovery, side seam balance | Fit comments should be clear |
| Printed resort dress | Print placement, color consistency, shrinkage | Approve strike-off or fabric sample first |
Production workflow
Send a tech pack, reference photo, sketch, or sample garment. We review fabric, measurements, trims, labels, target price, and deadline before sampling. After sample comments are approved, we confirm size ratio, colorways, packaging, QC requirements, and shipping method before bulk production.
Quality control
Dress QC focuses on symmetry, measurements, seam finish, zipper function, lining, print placement, pressing, and final packing.
Production proof for brand teams
Before sampling or bulk production, boutiques, designers, and online brands can use our visible workflow to check fabric direction, construction details, labels, packing method, and shipment preparation. For confidential brand work, client names stay private unless written permission is provided.
Materials
Fabric cards, trims, lining, label placement, and colorways are reviewed before sampling.
QC checkpoints
Inline sewing, measurements, finishing, label accuracy, and packing checks are confirmed before shipment.
Export packing
We prepare size ratios, polybags, carton marks, and shipment-ready packing for US/EU boutiques and online brands.

Case example: Los Angeles online party dress launch
A Los Angeles-based online fashion brand sent reference images for satin and mesh party dresses. Chicupup sampled multiple styles, revised fit and lining comments, and prepared a small bulk order for an online launch while keeping the brand name private.
